Really amazing – I should have known that there is so much stuff out there. Used the Hostgator instruction on how to manually install WordPress, created database, customized wp-config.php and off you go.
Really like the plug-ins available in WordPress:
- Google sitemap.xml
- Google Analytics
- Twitter sidebar integration
- Contextual related posts – awesome!
- Calais Auto Archive tagger helps when you are too lazy to do it yourself
- Sociable is quiet cool to connect to social networking sites
- flickRss and TubePress are nice plugins to link to your pics and videos
Will play around a bit with some themes, although my aim is to not even write a single line of code here!

WordPress rules doesn’t it?
It can be easily tweaked into a CMS, but it does what it does perfectly out of the box if you intend to use it for blogging only.
What I really like is the community, WordPress and the developers involved think about everything; usability, look and feel, and functionality.
I have recently developed an advanced website on Joomla and I tell ya, it is very clear that everything Joomla related, is being developed by PROGRAMMERS – table structures, no validation, poor usability and what have you.
Cheers.
